Preparing this first blog post reminded me of what my kindergarten teacher once told my English-speaking parents years ago at their first parent-teacher meeting – I would have been four or five at the time and living my first months of French immersion. She
said, “Joanne, she no speak English, she no speak French – she no speak at all.” True to self, all these years later, I feel like I’ve been doing the same thing while preparing this website and blog. An avid reader – before taking the plunge – I’ve been looking into topics that speak to me and putting together shareable content – a mishmash of stories, news, and practical considerations about words, music, culture, translation, etc. Although I should stick to a niche, I still haven’t found the perfect one. So, here’s hoping that the blogosphere will be patient with me as I dive in.
